by David Nakhla, OPC Disaster Response CoordinatorAugust 25, 2017God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 (ESV)Hurricane Harvey, now a Category 3 hurricane, is expected to make landfall in Southeastern Texas on Saturday morning around Corpus Christi. It has the potential to produce winds exceeding 120 mph.Just to its east in Houston there are two OPC churches, an OPC Bible Study work, other sister churches, and more than 2 million people. Harvey is projected to dump 20-30 inches of rain upon the greater Houston area. Significant flooding can be expected in the low lying areas. At least one of the OP churches has already had to cancel its Sunday service due to the lock down of the school building where they meet. Please remember to pray for all who may be affected by this storm. May the Lord use this event to turn hearts to Him.Please stay tuned for information on how we might be able to help after the storm.Help Now: PCA Mission to North America (MNA) Hurricane Harvey ResponseRelief Kits:For those eager to begin helping today, the PCA/MNA Disaster Response team invites the OPC to participate by assembling relief kits called "Flood Buckets."  Instructions on how to do that can be found at:
