The Presbytery of the Southeast Comes Together: Hurricane Helene

Members of Heritage Presbyterian Church in Royston, GA, seen here, traveled over 70 miles north to assist Covenant OPC in Taylors, SC, with tree removal following Hurricane Helene. This effort demonstrates the beauty of our connected church as the OPC Presbytery of the Southeast comes together to support one another. Pastor Peter Vandoodewaard (Covenant OPC, Taylors, SC) reports with thankfulness that they have received all the necessary generators for his congregation at this point. The OPC's sister denominations are now organizing their efforts.

HURRICANE HELENE

As far as we know, we report, with abundant thanksgiving to the Lord for his mercies, that the OPC was largely spared from the direct impact of Hurricane Helene.  This is both in the Presbytery of the South and the Presbytery of the Southeast.  There have been countless downed trees and many are without power.  Those needs are being addressed by church members within the region.That being said, we know that sister NAPARC churches have been affected.
